04.09.2012 - Dar es Salaam - Dubai - Frankfurt
Packing! This is what we have been doing since 8 o'clock this morning with mixed feelings. We are looking forward to going home to Germany but on the other hand some os us would really like to stay here a bit longer to get to know Tanzania better and / or to support the people in and around Manyoni.

In spite of all the activities concerning packing and our journey home we must not forget Alex's birthday. Since we are still in Tanzania, we sing him our new song "Mfaniyeni" which we learned here (see intermediate report 1).

After this things are happening really quickly. Before we get a  chance to think about it we are being crammed into the transfer busses which take us to the airport and in no time at all we have arrived there. Of course we have to get some food. Since the restaurant has no capacity for all of us at the same time, the group is split in two. While the first lot is having their lunch the others are stopped from running away and making nonsens;-)

After numerous security checks and some other hindrances at check-in all 37 "vocal freestylers" are finally seated in the right plane.

We touch down at Frankfurt Airport according to schedule without any further incidents worth mentioning and all feeling well (well...quite done in actually). As Daniel could persuade the conductor of our connecting train in Stuttgart to wait for our group, we finally arrive in Reutlingen dead on time (despite the famous "punctuality" of Deutsche Bahn (German Railway)).

Well, there is not much more to be told.

After almost 2 weeks in Tanzania we have such a wealth of experiences that it will take a good number of days/weeks/months to digest everything. On the other side, however, going back to the introductory picture, it has to be said that in the name of Vocal Freestyle we left our traces in Tanzania in all the people we dalt with. Bishop, priests, conductors, singers, bus drivers an their companions, market stallholders, parents, young people, teenagers and children, everyone was so very impressed and touched by our group that they will - according to their own statements - never ever forget us and would rather see us again sooner than later!

THE END!

PS: Since this is - for the time being - my last report from our journey to Tanzania in 2012, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all co-travellers, parents and readers for their interest and their patience and to appologize for any mistakes in spelling, grammar and/or context.
