Winds & Voices

Using that theme, vocal freestyle is making music together with the Collegium vocal Reutlingen as well as the Sinfonischen Blasorchester of the Jugendmusikschule Steinlach.

The concert takes place on Sunday, 28. April 2013 at 17:00h in the protestant Church of Gomaringen.

Missa Brevis

Every year again…

...the youth choir is singing at the Christmas Market in Gomaringen. They welcome the audience with "Mambo" by Herbert Grönemeyer. Ther first part consists of pieces which are not really christmas carols. After that some of Beate Pommranz's vocal students are ringing "Jingle Bells" to mark the beginning of the christmas time. The audience is enchanted by songs and choreography not only of the youth choir this year. Some of the members of the youth choir show their talent by solo performances.

African Flair in the Gomaringen Church

The youth choir Vocal-Freestyle reports on their journey to Africa

"What are you doing here so early? The evening is supposed to start at 7.30 p.m. - it's only  7.40 now. This is not African at all, in Africa all events start 2 - 3 hours late. But now let's have a look if everyone's here, so perhaps we can start a bit earlier then. SabSab!" this is how Dani P. greeted the audience at the beginning of our evening with memories of Tanzania on October 20th.

Concert "Memories of Africa"

On this evening you will get a little insight into life in Africa!

It's worth dropping in!

02.10.2012 - Postscript

A smalll postscript to our well project!

It is accomplished ! As we've  just  learned, the well in Tanzania has been finished by the bishop and his son. They poured the same amount of concrete - or even more - onto our half-finished covering - and voila - it's finished :-)

Of course we're made up about this and wanted to share it with you ;-)

In the following you'll find pictures of the finished well:

Back in every-day life

So now we're back in the civilization. Wearing our watches on our wrists and  always looking at them. Rushing from one date to another. How nice it was in Tanzania. The motto there is: "Punctuality is the skill to guess how late the other one is going to be". Accordingly a concert can start up to 3 hours late. We also experienced the Tanzanian puncutality during trips and our journeys to concerts. The interesting aspect about it ist that all the others are late as well and so nobody has to really wait.

04.09.2012 - Dar es Salaam - Dubai - Frankfurt
Packing! This is what we have been doing since 8 o'clock this morning with mixed feelings. We are looking forward to going home to Germany but on the other hand some os us would really like to stay here a bit longer to get to know Tanzania better and / or to support the people in and around Manyoni.
